Hallmarked Sterling Silver Quaich 8 inches Diameter.  Silver Quaich Bowls are traditional Celtic gifts for births and Christenings and are known in Scotland as The cup of friendship or loving cups. This Quaich is a second hand pre loved example and is a cracker that measures 8 inches (200mm) in diameter across the handles with the bowl being 4.75 inches diameter (120mm). The handles are a superb curved plain design.
The Quaich is in excellent condition and weighs 307 grammes (10.75 ounces) and was made by the well known Birmingham company Barker Ellis  with the date letter "W" for 1996.  This must have been one of the last pieces that Barker Ellis made before finally closing.
